The Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Pyatigorsk State University” has been listed among leading universities in South Russia, located in Mineral Spa resort of Pyatigorsk- the capital city of the North Caucasus Federal District. The University conducts training of teachers, translators and interpreters of major European and Oriental languages and Russian as Foreign Language as well as professionals in International Relations, International Journalism, Cyber Security, Information Technologies, Architecture and Design, Law, Tourism and Hospitality, Cross-Cultural Communication, Management and Administration, Public Relations etc. The exclusive specifics of PSU are that all professional programs include training in two foreign languages of 16 offered. Moreover, the opportunity for professional disciplines in “Tourism”, “Hotel Management”, “International Journalism” and “Public Relations” is available to be learnt in English.
Today 9 Institutes and Higher Schools of the University provide training to over 5,000 students from most regions of Russia and 38 foreign countries enrolled in the variety of programs leading to BA, Specialist, MA and PhD degrees, including a selection of e-learning programs. The PSU graduate Diploma has been recognized worldwide and accompanied with the European Supplement. The Center of International Education of the University provides international students both with the intensive Russian language courses as well as provisional training for their enrollment in higher education programs. The international Russian Language Summer School and Summer School of Translation are held annually. The students are provided with shared (2-3 prs/room) accommodation in 5 on-campus dormitories of hotel type, and have at their disposal a number of canteens and cafeterias spread throughout the University campus that is located in walking distance from public transportation, shopping mall, food marts and fast food facilities network. On Summer and Winter vacations the students can enjoy with leisure at the Alpine student camp in the mountains of the Great Caucasus. The nearest airport Mineralniye Vody “Michael Lermontov” is located in 20 km from Pyatigorsk, connected by daily round trip flights with Moscow and offers regular flights to major Russian cities as well as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Dubai, Israel, Cyprus, Turkey, Uzbekistan.The living expenses in Pyatigorsk are much lower than in metropolitan cities with subsistence level of 10080 Rubles per month.
