The Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Pyatigorsk State University” has been listed among leading universities in South Russia, located in Mineral Spa resort of Pyatigorsk- the capital city of the North Caucasus Federal District. Today 9 Institutes and Higher Schools of the University provide training to over 5 000 students from most regions of Russia and 38 countries enrolled in the variety of programs leading to BA, Specialist, MA and PhD degrees, including a selection of e-learning programs. The University conducts training of teachers, translators and interpreters of major European and Oriental languages and Russian as Foreign Language as well as professionals in International Relations, International Journalism, Cyber Security, Information Technologies, Architecture and Design, Law, Tourism and Hospitality, Cross-Cultural Communication, Management and Administration, Public Relations etc.

The Center of International Education of the University provides international students both with the intensive Russian language courses as well as provisional training for their enrollment in higher education programs. 

Russian language programs in different formats:

Preparatory department to prepare foreigners for admission to bachelor's/master's programs at our or another Russian university:

• An intensive program of 30 hours/week. 
• Dates: September 5 - December 15, January 15 - April 15, May 10 - August 10. 
• The tuition cost of the program is 89 300 rub., including registration fee.
• A certificate is issued.
• Accommodation: hostel. 
• Documents Application Form + passport scan.

The international Summer School of Translation is held annually.

The students are provided with shared (2-3 prs/room) accommodation in 5 on-campus dormitories of hotel type within walking distance from educational buildings, and have at their disposal a number of canteens and cafeterias spread throughout the University campus that is located in walking distance from public transportation, shopping mall, food marts and fast food facilities network.

The living expenses in Pyatigorsk are much lower than in metropolitan cities with subsistence level of 30 000 rub. per month.

On Summer and Winter vacations the students can enjoy with leisure at the Alpine student camp in the mountains of the Great Caucasus.

The nearest airport Mineralniye Vody “Michael Lermontov” is located in 20 km from Pyatigorsk, connected by daily round trip flights with Moscow and offers regular flights to major Russian cities as well as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Greece, Dubai, Israel, Cyprus, Turkey, Uzbekistan.

A visa invitation to study at the migration service and send it to candidates upon receipt of 100% of the tuition fee. Applicants from visa regime countries will receive a corresponding invitation to obtain Russian single entry student visa for 90 days from the date of issue. Upon arrival at the university, it will be reissued by PSU on site into multi-entry visa.

Those students studying at Bachelor, Master and PhD programs have the opportunity to apply to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the temporary residence permit for educational purposes. The application review period is 38 days. The temporary residence permit for educational purposes will be valid for the whole study period.

All international students are supposed to carry internationally valid health insurance. University will also assist to get local health insurance for receiving free medical care at medical institutions within the Russian Federation.

All foreign citizens coming to the Russian Federation for the period more than 90 days are supposed to go under the procedures of obligatory medical testing and fingerprinting. The abovementioned procedures are to be fulfilled within 90 days after arrival to Russia
